From Research to Action: Integrated Solutions for Climate Adaptation and Resilience

In this session, we will discuss the integrated solutions for climate adaptation and resilience focusing on Nature-based solutions. We will present the Mangrove Ecosystem Restoration Solution Project, as a community participatory model for mangroves rehabilitation. We will also delve into four key research papers: - Influence of salinity on the biometric traits of striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) and barley (Hordeum vulgare) cultivated under an integrated aquaculture-agriculture system: Highlights the need for resilient agricultural practices in saline environments. - Maximization of brackish water productivity for the sustainable production of striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) and grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) cultivated under an integrated aquaculture-agriculture system: Demonstrates sustainable use of brackish water resources for food security. - Spatiotemporal distribution of mangrove along the Egyptian Red Sea coast and analysis of hydrological impact on growth patterns: Demonstrates the importance of mangrove ecosystems in coastal resilience and their hydrological impacts. - Mangroves in Egypt and the Middle East: current status, threats, and opportunities: Provides insights into conservation strategies and the role of mangroves in climate adaptation.
