PS-1 Transboundary water governance for sustainable development

Effective governance ensures equitable and sustainable use of these resources ,vital for the socio-economic growth of the countries involved . this session will delve into the complex dynamics of transboundary integrated water resources management , highlighting both challenges and opportunities .Robust cooperation among nations is essential ,emphasizing the need for comprehensive policies and agreements that facilitate regional collaboration . this includes frameworks for data sharing ,joint forecasting ,and information management to tackle issues such as water scarcity ,pollution ,and climate change impacts. the session will also underscore the importance of water policies in facilitating the settlement of rural communities across borders, promoting inclusive governance models for community development and equitable access to shared water resources. Additionally, the role of regional and international communities in supporting transboundary water management efforts will be explored , with a focus on the increasing impacts of climate change on both national and international scales
