iWater: The Role of Transdisciplinary IWRM in Enhancing Climate Resilience and Water Sustainability
The iWater Project aims to drive transformative change in Egypt’s water sector by establishing innovative transdisciplinary partnerships between German and Egyptian universities, alongside key stakeholders from the public, private, and civic sectors. The project focuses on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), a vital approach to overcoming water scarcity and building climate resilience in Egypt.
This session, part of Cairo Water Week 2025, will explore the pivotal role of Transdisciplinary IWRM in enhancing water sustainability and climate resilience. The session will showcase the outcomes of the iWater Project, with a special focus on strengthening university-industry partnerships and the creation of a Master’s Program in IWRM at Ain Shams University and Mansoura University.
The session will feature keynote speeches from renowned experts in the field, followed by panel discussions that highlight the vital roles of industry, NGOs, regional organizations, and academia in fostering collaborative solutions to Egypt’s water challenges.
