Scaling Up Water Harvesting for Climate Resilience: Regional Lessons from Jordan’s 3Rs Model

The 3Rs Session at Cairo Water Week 2025 will bring together policymakers, practitioners, and development partners to reflect on the Jordanian Dutch 3Rs (Recharge, Retention, Reuse) Water Harvesting Project as a pioneering model in climate-resilient water management. Over the course of 1.5 hours, the session will highlight the technical and institutional achievements of the project, supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and explore how its lessons can be scaled across the region. Panelists representing government ministries, donor partners, Dutch technical institutions, and gender specialists will discuss opportunities for knowledge exchange, policy alignment, and regional collaboration. The session is designed not only to showcase results from Jordan but also to stimulate regional uptake of the 3Rs approach, linking community-based interventions with national strategies and advancing inclusive, climate-smart water solutions for the MENA region.
