Salinity Management in Action: Nature-Based and Technological Approaches

Salinity poses a growing threat to water resources, agricultural productivity, and livelihoods—especially in arid and semi-arid regions like Egypt and the broader MENA region. This session, convened by GIZ Egypt, brings together experts, policymakers, and practitioners to explore innovative approaches to salinity management that integrate both nature-based solutions and technological innovations. Through a dynamic mix of presentations and panel discussions, the session will: Highlight practical examples from Egypt and other regions, Showcase scalable technologies and local success stories, Examine policy frameworks that support effective salinity mitigation, Facilitate dialogue between stakeholders from agriculture, water management, and environmental sectors.
