Water-Soil Salinity: Scaling Multi-dimensional Solutions

Farmers in Egypt have been witnessing an increase in irrigation water and soil salinity over the years, particularly in the Nile Delta and Fayoum regions. Building on a 2024 CGIAR study on Maintaining Productivity of Salt-Affected Agricultural Areas, this session focuses on actionable and contextualized salinity mitigation solutions/innovation. It aims to discuss the opportunities and bottlecks to the uptake of salinity mitigation innovations, the regulatory and institutional framework and market systems governing them.
