Co-Shaping Transformative Water Capacity Program for a Resilient MENA Future

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is facing intensifying water challenges driven by climate change, population pressures, resource degradation, and socio-political fragility. Addressing these challenges requires more than technical know-how—it calls for a transformative approach to capacity development that empowers individuals, strengthens institutions, and fosters systems capable of responding, adapting, and innovating. Capacity building in this context must go beyond traditional training courses programming. It must support knowledge co-production, peer learning, institutional reform, digital innovation, and inclusive engagement of youth, women, and local actors to create resilient water systems and societies. This session aims at identifying entry points to co-develop a shared vision and regional program for transformative water capacity development in MNEA.
