The Youth Town Hall is an interactive debate designed to give young people—particularly those interested in governance, policy, and technology—a platform to discuss the ethical challenges and policy implications of artificial intelligence (AI). As AI continues to transform societies, economies, and governance systems, it presents both opportunities and pressing questions around fairness, transparency, accountability, and human rights.
The session invites youth, who will live with the long-term impact of today’s AI decisions, to engage in structured discussions and develop actionable recommendations. Through a mix of expert insights and open debate, participants will address key issues such as data privacy, ownership, avoiding bias and discrimination, AI’s role in public services, and youth’s contribution to shaping inclusive regulations.
The format includes opening remarks, expert contributions, a structured town hall debate, an open floor for audience input, and a consensus-building session where 3–5 youth-led recommendations will be drafted.
Expected outcomes include raising youth awareness on AI ethics, building direct connections with policymakers and experts, and developing clear youth-driven policy recommendations for ethical AI governance.
Target audience: Youth aged 18–35, including students, young professionals, civil society members, and activists.
