The World Water Council is pleased to announce the launch of its new report, Financing Water Projects: Building a Sustainable Future. This landmark publication redefines how we finance water projects, placing sustainability and resilience at the center of decision-making. Beyond narrow notions of “bankable projects,” the report shows that lasting success requires financial viability, social acceptance, and environmental responsibility—while building resilience to climate change and other disruptions.
The report makes three key contributions: it redefines sustainability as a design principle, links project-level analysis with broader systems thinking, and breaks silos by fostering collaboration across water, climate, nature, and development sectors. Drawing on case studies, it highlights five major challenges and offers seven pathways to embed sustainability, attract new financing, and improve long-term impact.
We warmly invite you to the official launch event, where the report’s findings will be presented and discussed with leading experts and stakeholders. The event will be followed by a cocktail reception, offering a unique opportunity to network and exchange ideas.
Join us in shaping a more sustainable future for water.
